Rooms and Rates
Each bedroom comes with its own dedicated bathroom, luxurious bed linens and towels from Vermont's own Whisper Hill bath amenities. Additional bedrooms are available if required. Wifi is available. The Fan House adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance. Our water is tested annually and The Fan House passes periodic inspections by the state with flying colors. Please note that all guest rooms are up a short but steep flight of country stairs.
Red Toile Suite

Multiple night stays at $220 per night. One-night stays during these periods at $230 per night.
We suggest a two-night stay on weekends from Sept. 17-Oct. 18. One-night stays are $250 per night during this period.
Yellow Toile Room

Who is your hostess? Someone who loves sharing her historic home with guests. She also enjoys reading, writing professionally and for myself, swimming in Silver Lake, discovering new voices in the world of opera, losing herself in a running-away-from-me perennial garden and meeting the lovely people who bring an appreciation of civilized and cultivated worlds with them. Thank you, all of my delightful guests.
Reservations and Payment: Advance payment by check drawn on US bank or by Zelle secures your room for up to two persons. A 9 percent Vermont rooms tax is also assessed. Last minute arrivals may pay by cash. We will refund your deposit if cancellations are made prior to 7 days before planned arrival (30 days before planned arrival for holidays and foliage season). A $25 booking fee per room per night will be deducted from returned deposits.
Welcome and Farewell: Please allow us to welcome you from 3 pm to 9 pm. Check out is at 11 am. (Please let us know if your plans may differ.)

It is our policy to seek improvements throughout our business operations to lessen our impact on both the local and global environment by conserving energy, water, and other natural resources; reducing waste generation; recycling and purchasing recycled products; and eliminating our use of toxic materials. We are committed to pollution prevention, continual improvement and meeting or exceeding all environmental regulatory requirements. Please note that as of spring 2026 this region is on drought alert. For your comfort we are counting on a newly installed heat pump system.

Dining Around. When guests book reservations at The Fan House, we provide a list of dining establishments that we think guests will enjoy. During the busy fall season and over holiday periods we encourage guests to prebook dinner reservations as far in advance as possible to assure they can dine at the restaurants of their choice.
